Do you know good German or Swedish music?

Post by Susanne »

If you do, please recommend me some. And it should be sung in German or Swedish. I'm trying to improve my language skills so it'd be nice if some of you could help me.

And as for German music: no Rammstein please.
I'm not really into anything heavier than the heaviest Sum 41 songs. I like Blink 182, Taking Back Sunday, Billy Talent, Bowling for Soup, Yellowcard... etc if that helps.

Rammstein. Period.

Oh, and Clawfinger. You should totally listen to some Clawfinger.
But I guess it's too heavy for you.

Here's some really weird stuff but it's about as good as any swedish rock music you'll find.

Here's a german song:

^ I like your suggestions, haha

But thank you people. I found some great songs to download. Though some of the bands seemed to have only English songs and as I said I wanted songs in Swedish and German. But thanks anyway :)

And let me know if you still know something good :P

Die Ärzte

aka. Die beste Band der Welt

That's all you need for the German part. They are just as (may be even more) entertaining than Sum 41, but in a different, more ridiculous way.
Videoclips to check out: Unrockbar (Unrockable), Lied vom Scheitern (Failure Song), Deine Schuld (Your Fault), Friedenspanzer (Peace Tank)
You can also find many of their songs with subtitles here.
A good example of their live show: Zu Spät (Too Late)
(they mess around, spontaneously change the lyrics, talk random funny shit, etc.)

Die Toten Hosen are also pretty cool, but no comparision.

Millencolin is the only Swedish band I know and like, but as you said, they sing in English.

As a swede myself I could list several bands for you, but more or less every band I listen to sing in english. Some really good swedish bands are;

Millencolin, Backyard Babies, The Hives, Raised Fist, Neverstore, HammerFall, In Flames, The Hellacopters

Millencolin has two songs in swedish; "E20 Norr" (english version of the song "Battery Check") and "Örebro" (Örebro is the name of Millencolins hometown, and this is the official song for the soccer team from that town).

Backyard Babies has a swedish song called "Jack the Ripper". You can find it on their compilation CD "Them XX". Really cool song!

As for the rest of the bands I don't know any songs in swedish.

Even though Otherworld is not a Rammstein song. The song has nothing to do with Rammstein.
