Btw. did they set a fixed number of tracks for the album or could it actually be more than the usual 12-14 songs? I think there fit about 20-40 songs on a regular CD (80min), depending on the lenght of the songs.

It depends on the size of the music files.. and They've said multiple times that it would be 14 but I'm hoping for more songs.. Deryck said that there would be 14 songs in update 8 during the pre production..

speaking of updates.. does anyone here think that the part that Deryck plays in the begin of update 21 is one of the guitar parts of the song that he sings in update 31?

I have a few theories about a couple of things you hear in the updates..

I think that the part that Deryck's playing in update 9 is from Jessica kill

So I was going over all the updates again, and this is what I found out.

Studio Update 31, at the end of the vid we get a snippet of a potentially new song. "I don't believe, in ignorance no more, ourselves we deceive", right?

Now put on Studio Update 21 and listen to the riff Deryck plays from 0:03 till 0:12.

It's the same.

Still wondering what happened to Sum 41 Studio #5. It had this demosong on it, including everything (bass, drums, guitars).

All of those have been deleted.. only 1,2 and 3 have been uploaded by Sum 41 france..

How do you even notice stuff like that? I have watched all the updates repeatedly and even learned to play a few of the guitar riffs and to me that Update 21 bit just sounded like he was playing around with the guitar to check the sound. I would have never even considered this to be a part of an actual song and I've also never seen him play vocals on guitar. Humming, yes - playing, no.

P.S. Yeah that's an awesome riff, but I like the one you can hear in the first bass updates even better (0:30)

Well this might be a good thing, now Deryck can just finish working on the album, and it might come out in the summer! I really hope Steve gets better quick! I wonder what happened, how bad the accident was.

It isn't a good thing at all for me and my friends... We're going to miss one of our best days ever... we just lost a lot of money.. and one of my friends even quit his job because he couldn't get a day off on june 5th...
