But if Subject To Change was never released, that would've gone to waste.
I love STC and I prefer it over UH, so it would've been a shame not to have heard that song ever.

Well, fact is it didn't go to waste because he liked it enough the way it was and the same thing will probably happen with all the songs that don't make it on the new record.
It's up to him what he does with his music and what he thinks is worth being released.

Like I said, creativity is unlimited so there is nothing ever really going to waste or else you would have to say every minute he does not spend writing songs is wasted. Even if you're not actually writing songs, a real musician's mind keeps working because you can't help it and if you have a great idea for a song, it will likely come back to you.

I wouldn't doubt that he's drunk (only because he seems to be drinking all the time lately), but I also won't doubt that he's taking up smoking as a regular habit.

I'm not too worried about the state of his voice at the moment. He'd have to have been smoking for years in order to really do some damage. We don't know how often he smoke anyway, we can only judge through pictures, but lately he seems to always have a fag in his hand.

Now that I think about it, I've never seen Deryck inhaling a cigarette. Even when he's had one in his mouth, it wasn't even lit.

I was just about to say: I have never actually seen him do a delightful puff. Seems like he just has them as an accessory for when there is nothing else for him to do, may be just so he doesn't feel tempted to do something worse again. Who knows..

Just read it, too. I'm really concerned, because "fuck" and no capital letters is usually Deryck posting. So he is either very drunk and just messing with twitter or we are about to hear some bad news.

I PM'ed Cone like a week a go to ask him what those big changes might mean, what they thought about their belgian show, when we would have a single and if he'd like to share a title. This is what he said:

Cool glad u liked the show. We had a good time. Not sure who did that tweet. Might have been Deryck and maybe he means big changes in music. This is a different intense album for us. The new single should come out in July. Another working title is "Skumfuk".

Although I'm willing to wait for the album as long as it takes to finish it, but I don't like the fact that the release gets delayed because they come up with more songs.
That's because more the songs, more of them not making the album, and I doubt they would release that many as B-sides. And it's a shame that we will never hear some of the songs they made.

So, if the songs keep on coming, why wouldn't save them for a next album or EP?

It doesn't have a release date so how can it be delayed, the reason their is no release date is because they don't know when it will be finished for sure all they know is a rough season of when it will be released.

I guess what he means is, that this rough season went from "very soon" in late 2009 to "this summer" in early 2010 to "late summer" now.

Btw. why is the next tour date on sum41.com 6/24/2010 CRICKET WIRELESS CHULA VISTA, CA?
I thought they were going to this big event in a few days or is that already over?

Their first show would be on may 27th.. when I looked today the first tour date was june 24th so all of the European tour dates have been deleted.. I hope this is just a mistake or an error.. The dates are still on their myspace...
