Listen at 1:32 when the bridge starts. It sent a shiver down my spine the first time I heard Deryck scream "suffer". He used to sing it like that a lot during the tours in the Infected era.
Yeah I agree, that was pretty intense. But I think it was a wise choice of him to go a little easier on his vocal chords so he didn't have to cancel shows due to overstressing them.

Yeah, it's understandable he wants to save his voice. I can't imagine giving that much effort day after day without getting a sore throat or whatever. I think when his vocal cords blistered in the Chuck era that's when he decided to take it easy. Either way, he's singing pretty good now.

Maybe the best live version of Over My Head, Derycks voice and the guitar sound is just awesome.

Then again, Thanks for Nothing is really great to. I miss this, ahh, great times.
Over My Head sounds great but those shot changes are a bit too fast even for Sum 41.. could have made a great video!

Man, they were at thjeir peak in 2003. Tons of energy, no scripted shows, none of the shirt and tie buisness and Dave was still into it. After that their live show started getting worse.

i disagree. They peaked after Dave left.

I think they've retained a little swagger this year, though.

So you're saying the best shows Sum 41 has ever performed in their career happened in 2007 until present?

Well, I agree that is hard to watch with all the camera changes, but thats something we have to blame MTV ;P

The part I love is that Deryck sings the part that goes"And now I'm" these days Deryck lets the crowd take that part, but I think he do better on is own.

Still Waiting is my ultimate fave live. I think they'll be much better live on Warp and for the new songs, D's got his attitude back, I think UH was an amazing album (vocals included), but not great live. This new album seems like its got a mix of good UH vocals with some aggressive tones mixed in, which should be great live. I'm going to ask him if he'll have any troubles singing more aggressive live with the new songs since we know the Chuck stuff was hard on his vocals

I completely have to say the way all of Sum 41 dressed during the DTLI era was way more normal and wouldn't generalize them into a style category, although Steve has really changed much. What I want most is them to lose the stupid hats and extremely tight pants.

I've kind of gotten used to the whole neck-tie wearing business, but it was a major facepalm-moment for me when they first started doing it in 2007.

I think it would be funny if on their next live DVD or something they wore clothes from the past (ie. Deryck's greasy, neon yellow t-shirt). But that would be more of like a reunion tour thing or something.

Best part of their career so far is the Sake Bombs and Happy Endings DVD. Great sound, great set and music, lots of energy and Dave.

Yeah, he kind of dresses like a back up Jonas brother, but that's kind of the "rocker" look; wearing a bunch of bracelets, sunglasses 24/7, blazers and jewelry.
