Also, Jeremy is NOT aloud to post in this thread. Even though, he's actually the entire reason i bought my 72 tele. Which is weird, cos I'm guessing he bought his cos Deryck.

On a side note, i didn't even know he was on this website until late after i had joined. I used to watch his vids, though.

I have a question for you guys who are also recording..

How do you record your music? outer-sound card? mic? directly to the computer?

Havent posted here in awhile...hope no one hates me still (if you do...sorry in advance).

I have a Fender Telecaster, a crap Squier Acoustic, and a small Yamaha nylon guitar.

I hope to sell the last two (yeah...dont know how I'm gonna sell the Squier), but I'm probably gonna save up for a Taylor Big Baby Acoustic. My dream guitar is a Gibson ES-335, a Gretsch wouldnt be too bad either.

Haha, it took me a while to make a post because I wanted to get some updated pics up, but these will do. I have little stories about some of my guitars.

Warmoth/Fender Custom: AKA My Baby
Image
Image
The body was built by Warmoth Guitars and has a belly contour cut (found on a '72 Tele Deluxe if you have one) and has a pewter finish. It's obviously just Deryck's Telecaster HH. I originally wanted to have a metallic sherwood green finish, but I wasn't sure how good it would look, so I just stuck to (what I knew) the pewter. I also wanted to have a custom neck with custom inlays, but it was getting too expensive so I just got a Joe Strummer neck from eBay. The pickup is a Seymour Duncan SH-4.

Image
No points for whoever gets the quote because it's not hard, haha. I also have my name and birthday engraved on the back on the neck plate.

The Deryck Replica
Image
I never would've made this if Deryck would've just put out a legitimate signature guitar like most artists with Fender and not put out a guitar made with a cheap pickup and cheap wood. At the time I heard Deryck was putting out a signature, I couldn't help but want it so bad. But 2007-2008 was just a disappointing time for Sum 41 for me. Anyway, the history is all here:

http://theresnosolution.com/forum/viewt ... 38&start=0

Billie Joe Signature
Image
I really wanted a Les Paul Jr. but at the time I wanted one all they had were Billie Joe customs. Gibson didn't have standard Les Paul Jr.'s around until later in 2008 in vintage sunburst and white. But by that time I had my mind made up to get the Billie Joe. I don't regret it. It came with a nice case and I'm in love with the finish. I wondering if I should change the H-90 to a P-90. The feedback I get from the H-90 is so annoying sometimes.

Deryck Whibley Squier
Image
I bought this solely for being a Sum 41 fan and I really wanted to know how it sounded. It was less than $300, so I didn't expect it to be good. I don't play it that often. It just doesn't feel like a quality guitar when you hold in your hands (I don't know, maybe other Squiers are like that too). Anyway, this is an old picture. I changed the pickup to the SH-4 and took out the tone knob to resemble Deryck's more. The sound greatly improved, but it still doesn't get played often.

Amp
I use a Fender Frontman 25R. It was the first amp I got when I started playing guitar. I plan on upgrading one day to a Marshall tube amp or something. Until then, this thing gets the job done.

Recording
As for recording equipment, it's nothing special; I plug my guitar into a Line 6 PODxt and use a program called Riffworks (Someone else on this forum used this set up to record a Hell Song cover. I got the idea from them). The end quality is listenable. That's really all I care about at the moment. I'm not officially in a band, so I don't need to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on quality mics, amps and programs. I just need something good enough to get my ideas down without too much hassle.
