This was a fun interview to watch. Steve's obviously drunk and it makes the interview that much more entertaining. I think drinking and partying will always be a part of Sum 41's lifestyle. Even as kids, Deryck and Steve emulated Nikki and Tommy from Motley Crue. Deryck just got divorced, so he's going to look for an outlet to cope with the situation. He seems to be getting drunk a lot more often this record than the last (and he looks like he's having more fun nowadays).
The band in this video is the band that I loved to watch back in the day. Carefree and reckless. During the Underclass Hero era it was like they were trying too hard to be artistic and grown up. With this album, it's like the whole atmosphere is the music. Like, those parties in the studio updates will reflect the energy in the songs. That's what I'm hoping for and I hope the new album is as carefree and as reckless as this interview was.
