Re: Avatar
Quality of the 3D depends what type of 3D you see it in so if you see it in IMAX 3D you're basically seeing it huge but the type of 3D is the oldest and the worst. It's a really good film and i'm sure it's great in 2D as well.

I'll probably watch it again in IMAX 3D, but right now tickets have been sold out until January 27th.

Re: Avatar
I saw the trailer and thought "no way I'm going to watch this alien shit".
Then my friend asked me to join him to see it in 3D. I had nothing else to do, so I thought at least it's 3D.
But I must say the movie was very good and epic. Although I'm not so fan of aliens (with Star Wars being the only exception, but hey, that's classic), this movie turned out to be a masterpiece in my eyes.
Even though the plot was simple and predictable, I really loved it how it all played out.
And just like how a dude behind me described it ("Best fucking UFO-porn I've ever watched"), the female character was somehow attractive.

Re: Avatar
I first saw the trailer for Avatar during the summer when I went to go see Inglourious Basterds. Right after it ended I was like, "Wow. Looks gay." I also thought it was based off some sort of comic book or something. I feel like I've seen those blue dudes before.TomiT14 wrote:I saw the trailer and thought "no way I'm going to watch this alien shit".

It was fucking amazing tbh.
Worth every dollar of the 237Million they spent on it.
Hopefully sequels will be decent.

Re: Avatar
I don't really want to see it for the storyline, that kind of shit doesn't really interest me. I just wanna see it for how amazing it supposed to look. and cos of James Cameron, it's not often he creates a new film, but when he does they tend to be amazing, including Titanic!

Re: Avatar
Might watch it in IMAX 3D this weekend. Must be pretty sweet! I just hope plans don't get cancelled.
I'm just going for the graphics, I still have no idea what the movie's about. Blue aliens, is all I know.

That's a good preparation. Really. The less you know beforehand, the better.Sara wrote:Might watch it in IMAX 3D this weekend. Must be pretty sweet! I just hope plans don't get cancelled.

I mean, all my pals who have had big expectations have been disappointed, but the ones who just went to see it without any info about it, they liked it.

Re: Avatar
Well, I saw it in 3D, it looked amazing, the whole graphic design and effects... they were mind blowing! But the storyline sucked balls... it was too long, boring for the most part, predictable, and not that interesting really. I mean, I expected more of an interesting storyline and all from James Cameron but it was just okay... the graphics are worth going to watch this in 3D and all... but not such an amazing movie like everyone make it. So overrated!

Re: Avatar
Yeah, the plot was predictable. I heard on the news that Americans were offended by it because it was "Anti-American" and made it look like the American military was bad and evil. I liked the character development though.
One thing that bugged me was that Jake gets the best dragon and gets to go to battle with a gun. He lets the rest of them fight with bows and arrows! But like a lot of things, the main character always gets the best equipment (ie. Ash has a Charizard, Jason gets to be the Red Ranger, Harry Potter gets a Firebolt... etc.).

Haha, yeah my friends who saw it when it first came out described it as, "The plot is basically Pocahontas." I can't remember the Disney movie too well, but wow.

Re: Avatar
The plot to me was, although predictable, believable. I honestly could see human travelling to a foriegn plant and destroying their ecosystem for minerals. The graphics were amazing but I kinda want to watch it again but this time come earlier for a better seat. We watche in 3D in the front row and that wasn't great. I'd probably only ever watch this movi in a theater or on a big tv and only in HD or 3D.
