Okay, I just got a notice that someone ("TheBrownBrigade") posted a reply to my comment on the Total Guitar Lesson - Sum 41 video on Youtube, which I watched again last night.
I thought it was some fake account, but I checked it out nonetheless, because I thought it might be from the guy who I was replying to originally.

Turns out it was apparently Dave himself replying to my comment:

this guy was the only real talent that sum 41 had, I don't really like pop punk bands but he caught my intrest when i heard pain for pleasure then I officially became a fan when I heard still waiting and later we are all to blame, not a huge fan of sum41 but this guy made a decent band out of them breifly

he was the lead guitar talent and it was a loss for the band when he quit, but saying he was the only talent is just wrong.
cone is an awesome bass player, stevo is one hell of a drummer, and deryck is an amazing singer and songwriter and pretty good at the guitar for a rhythm guitar player.

not to mention my replacement is awesome

That just made my day. This is exactly why Dave has to be one of the nicest, most likable, down-to-earth human beings the world has ever seen.

I'm not saying this is news or something, I just thought it would be worth sharing.

All I gotta say is that for the last couple years I've always been thinking whether the band members (including former member) ever read all the stuff that us, the fans, write about them. You know, you always wish they were but just had this doubt like they weren't.

ps (to the Band) I know there's a lot of negativity in the stuff you read sometimes. But a lot of good stuff that's worthwhile to take into account. Glad you guys follow this up.
