[Review] Rise Against @ Helsinki 27.10.10

Post by samueeL »

The concert was at "Cable Factory" which is very long and very narrow hall! Here's small picture of the venue:

And found other too: Image

The opener was this horrible Finnish screamo band called The Lighthouse Project (You can check 'em here: http://www.myspace.com/lighthouseproject ) It was just awful to listen. They played 30min set and after that there was 30min break before Rise Against.

When Rise Against came to stage, crowd went nuts. I never thought I see Finnish people acting so crazy. Shoes and stuff were flying all over the place. When show started I was about 10 meters from stage. After the show ended I was probably 60-80 meters from the stage. Crowd was so crazy and I'm pretty small guy. (173cm, 68.1 inches) They leaved the stage after (15.) Prayer of the Refugee. And for first encore Tim McIlrath came alone with acoustic guitar. That was indescribable. You can find video of it at the bottom (Not my vid, I forgot camera...). First he did some talking and after that he played Swing Life Away and Hero of War.

For the second encore the whole band came to stage and played their biggest hits.

I'd give the concert rating 8/10 but first encore was totally 10/10.

I most say that's a pretty short setlist with not nearly enough songs from Revolutions. Other than that the songs are all awesome.

You're so lucky to see them live! Oh man I would do anything to see those guys live!! Pretty solid setlist, like the setlists I saw from shows ealier this year. Though I'm missing some great songs like "Behind Closed Doors" and "Life Less Frightening" which are so fuckin' great and I would totally put them in this set instead of The Good Left Undone or The Dirt Whispered.

I wish they played Blood to Bleed and Savior in Regina last year. But I think should always close with Refugee. They make a sweet jam ending out of that song that's the perfect ending.

Refugee or Give It All are the best songs to close with, I'd say. Ready to Fall isn't such a great clousure, although its an awesome song!

I went to see them last year and they were pretty good likes but I was gutted how they've not played Like The Angel this time. It's one of my favourite songs.

i saw them, fucking amazing. except they didnt play swing life away :suicide:
Children of the beast embrace,
To scorn and the human race,
Consume the light that hugs the earth,
And aid the womb in giving birth,
To a group that will appear,
And guide you through this final year,
The dark armies then will come,
When the sum is 41
