Shirt & Tie Trend

Post by sprinks41 »

i've noticed A LOT of bands nowadays are following with the whole shirt and tie fashion look. i'm not against this at all, i've just been wondering: what is the deal with it lol? honestly i think it looks pretty cool, and you would never really expect punk-rockers to pull that stuff off. but i just dont understand how or why it's happened lol. i know there really isnt an answer to this, i just wanted to put it out there.

When I saw Sum live in Pomona in March, the only person wearing a tie was Tom. I guess it's just the ironic style.

I personally hate this style even tho it may suit some people.
It's just to formal for me.
And I hate formal.

I used to like it, but if I go around wearing it, people are going to think I'm being a poser or whatever. Not in the mood for that shit.

Its like Emos started it or something, but you can see a lot of punk rockers with it, Deryck wore it all the day during the 2007 tour, then Cone started wearing then, and now Tom. I also think I saw Ian D'sa from Billy Talent wearing it and probably some other bands.

Deryck probably didn't wear shirts and ties until he saw how popular Green Day got with American Idiot and how Billie Joe dressed during that time.

Yeah, Deryck's shirt & tie outfit kinda reminded the shirt & tie Billie Joe wore during the American Idiot era, and not the older Green Day eras, cuz then it was kinda different ties.
