Re: Bass Amp...?
i said i've been playing for 1.5 years.I have only used a squier and tried cort action and some other corts.I don't know much about them. But if u want to buy a starting bass cheap bass, and if u want to play sum 41 etc. pop punk bands.I say buy a fender squier precision etc. or standar precision bass guitar.

Re: Bass Amp...?
Hey bud,PunkSteve wrote::) thanks! also, what basses do u recommend? ive heard Warwick Double buck are good , but i dont knowa bout prices/etc...
I dont play bass but I can offer some help,
I have used a bass before on my first little marshall mg15 amp and it kinda buggered amp bit in sound quality so yeah get a bass amp.
Bass has higher frequency's than Guitar, so you need larger, suitable speaker in your amp etc for it.
Basses i wouldnt go for warwick personally dunno just don't fancy them, I need to hear them before i can really judge
what's your price range?
I have included a site i like very much for prices
guitarampkeyboard.com (GAK)
other good site's are gear4music.com & thomann.com
basses range from £160-£3000
bass amps range from £140/160 to thousands again
For bass guitars i recommend you buy a Active bass guitar slightly dearer but better choice -
http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/p.php?n=44
- Ibanez - the guitars are good so i think basses will be good
- Fender - would be good I like fender very much
-Peavey - again might be alright
-Yamaha - good reliable make as well
For bass amps get a combo, they seem to do justice - make's I would go for
http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/p.php?n=39
-Ampeg (Same make as Cone usues) - 50watt for £260 or one at £385 100watt would be good £100watt sometimes all you need really dpends
-Peavey's good make
-Marshall is big make, but myabe not great for bass, dunno havent heard them
-Laney might be alright think I've heard one
-Fender could be good too, havent heard them though
-Line6 is ok, but again I havent heard bass one's, just used guitar one's
*I would go to a good music shop try them out first, I would like to hear ampeg bass amp's myself.
Hope i have been helpful. good luck with finding the sound and something good bud.
Re: Bass Amp...?
^ thanks, thats great help! :)
yeah, ive heard of GAK, will deffinitely buy from there, and thanks for the amp/bass brand advice :D
price range is about £300-400 for the bass and 100-200 for the amp ...
but at the same time, i'm not sure if im gonna get a bass just yet, cause i really need an electro acoustic guitar for live performances this summer...
for me, a bass would be a side-instrument, so i think i'll keep an eye out for one to maybe get for xmas :)
thanks again mate!
p.s. - we have same name & are from uk... cool

aww cool, yeah well that's gd price range, you'll get decent enough bass for £300 and prob get better amp if you spend near £300 mark so 100watt one for 200-something wud be good idea,
aww cool, yeah I'm trying to save up for electro-acoustic myself, I wanting a Yamaha APX-500 about £238 from Thomann.com, elsewhere it's up to £280 or more or £240 from gear4music, getting black one, seems to have good reviews, so it'll do me fine
lol, aww that's kinda cool like that were both from uk
welcome bud
