Yeah, pretty much. Nevermind was what had people turning more towards grunge music rather than pop.2712 wrote:Thiller for pop. Nevermind for grunge/rock

Re: ALBUM
Nobody asked which album is better, and it's all based on opinion.Da_Aman wrote:Nirvana is better but Thriller had a bigger impact.
I think it's a hard question to answer. I can say this, though.
Nevermind basically opened the mainstream eyes to grunge music, and after Nirvana was done, a lot of other bands were picking up on the sound and were getting big off of songs that mirrored Nirvana's style. You started to see a lot more one hit bands like The Verve Pipe, and you saw a lot more of the emo style bands getting bigger... Jimmy Eat World and Sunny Day Real Estate.
I don't know a lot about Thriller, because it's not as recent, but I think that how much exposure the grunge/emo genres had on the mainstream after Nirvana ended has a lot to do with that album.
but I know I can't be comfortable in my own skin.
So when I say I'm scared to be alone, you know I mean it,
I'm just not ready to leave my room.
