Guitar Hero: World Tour

Post by Dylan »

so it's been out for a while already, who bought it, who wants to buy it, who doesn't want to etc..? i got it a couple days ago.

apart from the good songs, and that you can record your own songs (though i haven't figured that out yet) theres nothing really special about it. ya sure it's got Sting, Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy, Travis Barker, Zakk Wylde, Ted Nugent, Haley Wiliams, Billy Corgan all in it, but that doesn't take away from the sub-par graphics, cut and paste feel and choppyness of the people performing (the singer walks around like he is singing when he really isn't).

this game is not as good as Rock Band. and it is FAR from being half as good as Rock Band 2. the only thing this game has over those games, is that you can make your own songs, but it is way too complicated to do that.

I was thinking about getting it, but my friends have been trying to convince me to get Rock Band 2... which I may end up doing.

i don't know if GHWT sucks because i have it for PS2, or it's just a sucky game overall. i'll probably end up selling all my guitar hero stuff eventually and just sticking to Rock Band.

another thing that i like about GHWT is they added in a "open strum" feature for guitar and bass. more realistic. but that is countered by the fact they have no RUSH in the game.

I find these band games are only fun at parties where you're playing with a bunch of friends, taking turns... etc. I got Guitar Hero 3 like two weeks ago and beat it. Now I don't even touch it anymore, really.

Ive started playin guitar hero when the first edition came out, before it was really really popular and I loved it and bought guitar hero 2. But then guitar hero 3 came out and I played it at a friends place, but I didnt like it every thing has gone way to big. But with GHWT I hope it will be ye ol'guitarhero times and I have trust in it

i like the GHWT drums (Cymbals!) but i hate their guitar...

that open strum thing is the gayest thing ever... i played one song on easy and the entire song was just open strums...

its pointless on guitar, but it makes sense for bass.

ive got GHWT on wii and i quite like it, admittedly i havent tried RB but i have seen the drum kit and find the lack of cymbals kinda crappy (if im not mistaken you can buy them separately? but imo thats still rather shite). That being said GHWT certainly is not without its problems, definitely comes across as though they were only concerned with getting it released as soon as possible rather than working out all the kinks. To name a few things, the typeface used for the song title and artist is horribly unreadable, when playing as a band the the meter that shows your score/star power etc is stupidly positioned up in the top left hand corner so its practically impossible to see if your not in the player one position and you cant actually change your band (ie load a different game file) without actually reseting the game...
so yeh it has some frustrating/annoying points but it has Prisoner of Society so win!

Its very awesome but they drums start to fall apart after a while. Still awesome though. I love doing online drum battles. I'm 21-3 Online(Wii).

My little brother got it for christmas. He's a lot better at it than I am.. The only song I can play till the end is what I've done by Linkin Park and I played the easy level.. :P But it was still fun.

I got it the day it came out. I didn't have to pay for it because I traded my wii in for Rock Band 2 and the whole Guitar Hero World Tour band kit. It's OK. It's kinda growing on me, but I go back and forth from rock Band and Guitar Hero, but ever since the Travis Barker Downloadable Tracks came out, all I've been playing is What's My Age Again and Lycanthrope. They're easy, but so much fun!
