Dogs are always loyal to their master, no matter how awful that person is. Does that help?

my god, why is everyone copying these days. I didn't expect Green Day to copy a same song name, then again there not the first to copy, there's bin a lot of same song titles with many artists, but sometimes an entirely different song or damn cover, lol

From the sounds of things, the HUGE ( ) difference is that Green Day's is about religious blindness and Sum 41's was about political blindness...

working class hero is old song, Green Day just done new cover of it, made their own version. It was originally done by solo male artist, John Lennon, lol

still think it's bit absurd Green Day calling song or album "March of the dogs" why? I hope they have gone back to their older ways with new edge and don't be so damn commercial this time, American Idiot was gd an all, it got them even more huge which was gr8t, but then i feel it got annoying, it was too commercial, some of their older stuff was really much better, there's few oldies that are really catchy and that's what makes green day for nice good pop punk/rock, catchy songs, catchy, smart bass lines , lol

don't get me wrong, I like Green Day, lol

Well, I still think Sum 41's was at the same time, probably even intentional (maybe in the beginning not) play on NIN's "March of the Pigs", since you know, they were called the song "Carnival of Sins" first, so what made them change the name.

If MOTD was a single, Green Day would never call a song of theirs by the same name but I guess its just not known enough and maybe Billie Joe doesn't even bothers to check out anything like that and doesn't gives a shit about Sum 41 haha.

You forgot to mention the similarities between:
"Take a Look at Yourself" with "Letterbomb"
and
"So Long Goodbye" with "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)"

March of the Pigs sounds nothing like March of The Dogs, Trent Reznor (NIN) used the "pig" as a metaphor for politicians; which was most likely George Bush Sr.

Sum 41 probably changed the name To MotD because "Carnival of Sins" wouldn't give listeners an idea of what the song was about and MotD would.

I didn't say the songs sound alike. Just said the main idea is kinda the same and the name of MotD is a play on MotP

AP visited Green Day in the studio and had the chance to hear some of the new tracks. They mention that there are three Act’s in this album (Act 1- “ Heroes and Cons”; Act 2 – “Charlatans and Saints” - Act 3 "Horseshoes and Handgrenades"). Some of it is political, but most of it very much personal. They talk about 7 songs they heard (of 16 the band has). The song "March of the Dogs" is a "religious rant", while the song "21st Century Breakdown" is a bit more personal, but still talking about how the American dream seems to fade away. A “piano-driven love ballad” called “Last Night On Earth” where Billie talks about it being a romantic moment with more between the lines.
about it being ing "Acts" and the Love Ballad; i agree, this will be American Idiot Pt. 2. you can't stop the tweens from liking this album. it will get just as, if not more, play on TV/radio as AI.

this is some exciting news, and i dont really think they are copying sum 41 on this one
Children of the beast embrace,
To scorn and the human race,
Consume the light that hugs the earth,
And aid the womb in giving birth,
To a group that will appear,
And guide you through this final year,
The dark armies then will come,
When the sum is 41

Isn't Carnival of Sings something Motley Crue related??
