I use linux with my laptop, but I hardly use it because I prefer the Windows Operating System, If you do install Linux I suggest you install WINE with it, this will allow you to run Microsoft Windows based applications say like uTorrent, FireFox [Although I believe there is a Unix based one] and stuff like MS Office too, You can read up on it and download it here

I wasn't to keen on linux either, it's not really that different than XP in my opinion for the reason I use a computer anyway.

Yeah, but it's worth the money I think. A Mac would probably last longer than a regular $500 Toshiba or something.

Plus, if you're into making movies, music or pictures, it's really great. As cliche as that may sound. But yeah, I worked all summer, made $3400 and now I'm down to $300 cause of the Mac (and this Line 6 PODxt I bought).
