Just bought an acoustic guitar

Post by Bass Cone »

What are some easy songs to learn? It's the first time I've seriously invested in a guitar besides bass.

start by first learning chords. a good one would be Good Riddance (Time of your Life) by Green Day

that one uses basic chord like C or G

hmm i found the rythem of So Long goodbye hard to figure out... Best of Me is extremly easy with rythem and chords, and its fun to sing along with. i suggest you learn that one and yes Time of YOur life. what else... you could do an oldy, Downtown! 'when your alone and life is making you lonely you can always go Downtown!' haha. that was actually kind of fun to play. i didn't know the rythem though...

Hmm, So Long Goodbye is extremely easy.
Megadeth's "Time: The Beggining" is pretty easy as well.

hmm, some good by blink are Fuck A Dog :lol!: , Reckless Abandon, Easy Target, All of This. (i know, those one aren't originally on acoustic, but they're easy).

Oh and Metallica's Fade to Black, but its not that easy.

Tonight, Tonight (The Smashing Pumpkins)
NOT Good Riddance. that song should burn.
Best of Me (The Starting Line)
Swing Life Away (Rise Against)
Remembering Sunday (All Time Low)

acoustic guitars are extremely useful at social gatherings such as campsites or music festival.
if you learn songs that EVERYONE knows, youll get some pretty big singalongs (speaking from experience)

try some oasis, hendrix, beatles or led zeppelin songs
