I've always liked the p-bass sounds ! I'm not a bass player, but I'd say you can't go wrong with a fender bass ;) You should really consider using virtual amps. I'm using a profire 2626 + a PRS DI Box, and it goes through a software called Amplitube. I like it cause you can have different amp models...
