It's probably not actually in the movie. Soundtracks sometimes have random songs on them

I dunno, this still doesn't change much of how I view Tom after the breakup. There's a difference between sitting down and civilly discussing an issue regarding touring and family with the other members of your band, and making demands left and right without negotiating. Yeah, sure, it's great to wa...

Long post ahead. I don't see why they wouldn't release another album. Just from observing, it seems that they made such a big deal out of reforming themselves as musicians and a band for this album that some people concluded that they would have nowhere to go after Underclass Hero, and they'd "...

Q&A Archives?

Does anyone know if there are any places I can get the older official Q&A questions?

You know, now that I think of it, we never found out anything else about that really fast song from the first rehearsal video from way back in '06.

Chances are you'll only be able to get so close to his tone with that equipment. He's using tube Marshalls and Les Paul Jrs on that song, which is very high-end gear.

Handle This = Some Say

Sorry if this has already been pointed out before, but has anyone noticed how the chorus of Some Say sounds almost identical to the chorus of Handle This?

Yeah, but I was referring to them putting it on their setlist for touring.

Yeah, March of the Dogs isn't considered a single. They've specifically said so before. It just gained a huge following for being the first song from the new album released, probably along with the controversy it caused. I really hope they play Pull the Curtain live. I mean, jeez. I don't see why th...

If I'm not mistaken, Hooch and Hyper Insomnia were regularly played on the DTLI tour too.

It's the L/R speaker balance. I forget which speaker has only Deryck in it.

And yeah, the single note parts are probably a bit easier for him to play than the full power chords, Fender or not.

Yeah, part of it may have been laziness too. But his guitar playing wasn't fantastic during the Infected Era either. Like, take Saki Bombs and mess with the balance so you can only hear Deryck's guitar. Some of his power chords sound really really bad. But yeah, laziness definitely seemed to pop up ...

Well, as much as i agree and i'm sure he's not faking it, i have to agree with Blastero, very nice post, man! we really cant be sure in 100%, although i'm taking Deryck's side anyway. i think i can still trust him. Thanks, and also thanks to Asho and folks. I wasn't sure how my post would be reciev...

I think part of the reason Deryck's guitar playing started to get worse during the mid to late Infected Era is because he switched from Gibsons to Fenders. I usually play an SG, but I still have my first guitar, a Squire Strat, and whenever I pick it up, I have a real hard time playing, because of h...

this might be a bit off topic, but what were they not honest about with the chuck yourself CD? I'm not trying to make a point, I really just don't know. To put it simply, it's not live. Deryck's vocals and guitar are all re-recorded, as well as some of Dave's, as well as a few other things. Yeah, w...

Deryck actually talked with his bandmembers in the AKNF era, which was cool, as opposed to the generic, "Say "fuck you, Deryck!'" stuff that he does nowadays.

Ugh, can you just lay off? No one can say for sure if he's faking or not. Sure, I mean if he's not faking it, his expressions in those pictures may very well be due to pain, and if so, I feel very sorry for him. My Dad had a herniated disk, and he had to watch it for a while, and do a lot of (painfu...

Well Go Chuck Yourself has almost all of Deryck's parts, both guitar and vocals, re-recorded. But yeah, he seemed to have gotten really lazy during the Chuck era as far as the guitar playing goes. He apparently has some problem palm-muting, since he never does it. Like in Grab the Devil and We're Al...

Best Live Era?

When do you think Sum 41 was best live? Every era has strenghts and weaknesses. Instrumentally, they are just so-so, now, in my opinion, especially in comparison to the old days with Dave. Vocally, Deryck seems to be ironing out all his weaknesses this time around, which seems good. I really think t...
