It really depends on the job. Freelance doesn't make too much. Staff photographers for papers and magazines usually are a salary I think. Getting in with the press is tough though. They usually don't give a shit about you if you're a freelancer, unless you come up with a really amazing photo.. then ...

Its a tough field to get into. It will definitely be a hobby for the rest of my life, but I'd love to make a career out of it.

For the most part, I take pictures of bands. Usually live, but I'm supposed to do promos for my friends band soon.
But I have a little bit of everything in there.
